Today's Spring Fashion Tip

What is your style?
Small waist; gaucho pants; bright colors; pastels; dresses; pants; white, black, natural.

No matter what you prefer you are in luck. The Fashion Mavens of this world couldn’t get together on any one style and they are showing it all.

In other words – you are not stuck with one look that may or may not favor you.

For instance, the gaucho pant look is very popular in the fashion magazines. But, if you are short, a bit overweight, have heavy legs, then this style is not the best for you. Instead you may want to opt for the wider leg long pants.

Belts are still in. You may have noticed more of the wide belts in the magazines and/or on TV. If you have held onto all your old belts, experiment with your jackets and dresses or skirts. It’s a very effective wardrobe updater.

Skinny belts look best with something more fitted, while wide styles are for more substantial pieces. There is one No-No - wide belts with a big top and big (full, gathered) skirt, especially if you are short. If you are wearing a big top and belt make sure you wear skinny pants or a pencil skirt.

Puff sleeves, ruffles are everywhere. The look is more subtle. For example, you don’t want to have a puff-sleeved blouse with ruffles at the wrist. A small ruffle on the cuffs and covering the buttons on the front of your blouse can be very flattering.

Skirts are ruffled, tiered or pleated, long, and short. If you are wearing a big skirt, it needs a small top. Big tops with the full skirts will give you that “I’m expecting” look.

If you have to choose one color for Spring and Summer – make it white. It is fresh and elegant. Add a dash of color like lemon yellow or lime green and you’ll be ready for anything.

If white is not for you, others in that natural spectrum like ivory, oatmeal, nudes, and khaki, are also major colors this season – and yes, you can still wear your blacks.
